Joseph and Jennifer are spiritual soulmates whose magnetic energy was destined to unite them, long before they even met. From the moment their paths crossed, it was clear that they were meant to be together.

Their journey began at the summer SoFA Street Fair in the heart of San Jose's vibrant art district—a place they both hold close to their hearts.

Jennifer was wandering through the fair when a band called The Surf Monsters caught her attention, their glittery suits shimmering under the sunlight. As she looked for the best spot to enjoy the music, she noticed a man dressed in all brown standing quietly off to the side of the stage, offering a perfect view. Something about him seemed peaceful and safe, so she thought, “That looks like a great place to watch the band—and he seems like someone who won’t bother me.”

Joseph had already been enjoying the band before Jennifer arrived, and although he didn’t say anything at first, he immediately noticed her radiant curly hair and positive energy.

After a few moments, Joseph turned to Jennifer and casually asked if she knew the drummer. When she said no, he excitedly shared how talented the drummer was, urging her to catch it on video as he’d noticed her recording.

Once the drummer wrapped up his solo, Joseph handed Jennifer a sticker with his own band’s name, BarelyFunktional, and said, “I’m not sure how long you’ll be here, but my band plays at this same stage at 4 p.m. It’d be great if you could stay for the show.” Jennifer thanked him, and Joseph smiled warmly before excusing himself to prepare for his set.

That day was the beginning of many dates, shared moments, and deep love.

A natural charmer, Joseph eventually proposed to Jennifer in the magical beauty of Kona, Hawaii.

Now, they are excited to begin the next chapter of their lives, surrounded by love, family, and friends, as they continue their journey together.
